RECOVERY
AND DISCOVERY WORKSHOP IN
"CO-DEPENDENCY, ADDICTION, AND HEALING
THE ADULT CHILD WITHIN"
"CO-DEPENDENCY,
PEOPLE
THE MOST DANGEROUS DRUG OF ALL."
"But you don't understand, I can't just leave him. I'm the
caretaker, but I don't want to be just that, I want my own life!"
Statements of this kind as well as, "I can't leave her, she's
all I've got," are widely lived everyday. Co-dependency is the
most insidious of all addictions. Here the "drug of choice talks
back and teases you with feelings of happiness, only to dash your
hopes on w whim. The problem is that this occurs continuously in a
vicious circle that leaves you empty, sad, and alone. By using the
12 step philosophy and other "hints in relationships you can
have your self-love restored and BEGINTHE PROCESS OF LIVING A WHOLE,
SPIRITUAL LIFE. |
"I'VE
DONE THE TWELVE STEPS, BUT OH WHERE -- OH WHERE HAS MY SPRITUALITY
GONE?"
I've often heard, "Is this what recovery is all about? I was
better off drinking, drugging, gambling, overeating, etc." I
have also heard it said, "I had a year and then all of a sudden
I was back into my old behaviors." These complaints are common
in the person executing a program of recovery that is nonspiritual.
WE ALL CAN DO THE TWELVE STEPS, BUT CAN WE LIVE THEM? IF YOU
CAN, YOU WILL SEE A NEW WAY OF LIFE! If you simply DO them,
you will never reap the rewards of living a spiritual existence. You
will understand the challenges and opportunities that if responded
to with the proper tools, will enable you to give yourself one day
at a time on addiction fee and spiritual life. |
